(Georgetown, DE) -- For more than 50 years downtown Georgetown has played host to one of Sussex County’s best holiday traditions and this year is no different.

Scheduled for Thursday, December 5, in the Sussex County Seat, the Annual Georgetown Christmas parade is being organized by the Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Georgetown, and will begin at 7 p.m.

“Planning has already begun,” says Kevin Thompson, Executive Director for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. “This is one of my favorite events of the year – seeing the community come together to see all the amazing floats, bands, and marching groups. I think this will be one of our best parades yet!”

The theme for this year’s parade is a “A Winter Wonderland” and will again culminate in the arrival of Santa Claus.

As usual, scores of floats, marching bands, classic cars, fire engines and much more will participate in the annual event.
